The Technical Difference: 360 Spin vs. Robotic Glambot
While both offer immersive video, the engineering behind them is fundamentally different:
360 Photo Booth (Centrifugal Motion): A 360 booth uses a stationary platform where a motorized arm rotates a camera (typically an iPhone or GoPro) around the subject at a constant speed. The effect is created by the camera’s perspective change relative to the background. It is an ambient motion capture system.
Glambot (Robotic Kinematics): The Mission Ridge SpinShot Glambot utilizes high-speed industrial robotics (OrcaVue hardware) paired with a specialized cinema camera. Unlike a 360 booth, the camera is mounted on a robotic arm capable of complex XYZ-axis movement and extreme acceleration.
Frame Rates & Optics: Our Glambot captures at 120+ FPS (Frames Per Second) in 4K, allowing for "time-remapping" (ultra-slow motion) that a standard 360 booth cannot achieve. We use professional-grade glass and global shutter sensors to eliminate the "rolling shutter" distortion often seen in mobile-based 360 units.
